S-Life Healthcare Partners with Sejong University to Boost 'K-Insect Industry'

S-Life Healthcare announced on the 26th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Department of Smart Bio-Industry Convergence at Sejong University for research and development and technology commercialization using insects.
S-Life Healthcare, a startup established last year, is developing animal feed, functional foods, and bio-based new materials using insects. The research team led by Professor Yoon Eun-young of the Department of Smart Bio-Industry Convergence at Sejong University recently developed insect biodiesel production technology. They also developed functional cosmetic materials as additional uses for insect oil and created feed that promotes the growth of rainbow trout using high-protein byproducts.
The cooperation under this MOU includes ▲ joint use of research facilities and equipment for conducting R&D projects through mutual cooperation ▲ exchange of academic and technical information to promote commercialization of technologies owned by Sejong University ▲ training and exchange of insect industry experts through theoretical and field application education ▲ strengthening promotional cooperation to revitalize the domestic insect industry.
