On the 26th, Gumi City announced that the 'Robot Administrator' was found damaged between the 2nd and 1st floor stairs of the Gumi City Council around 4 p.m. on the 20th. The robot, which was passing through the 2nd floor of the Gumi City Council to deliver administrative documents, suddenly rushed toward the nearby stairs and fell about 2 meters down, reportedly ceasing to function completely.
According to the officials who witnessed the accident, the Robot Administrator showed unstable behavior by spinning in place just before the accident. The exact cause of the robot's accident has not yet been determined.
The robot was first introduced to Gumi City Hall on August 1st last year as an artificial intelligence (AI) administrative service robot. Unlike existing logistics delivery robots that perform limited roles on a single floor, this robot faithfully carried out its duties by autonomously taking the elevator and moving between floors.
A Gumi City official stated, "We monitor the robot's status in real time and manage it remotely, but it suddenly rolled down the stairs," adding, "The company has collected the robot and is analyzing the cause."
