Japan: "Suspected North Korean Ballistic Missile Fell Outside EEZ"
On the morning of the 26th, the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced that North Korea had launched an object presumed to be a ballistic missile into the East Sea.
According to local public broadcaster NHK, the Japan Coast Guard, citing Ministry of Defense information, stated at 5:39 AM that "an object likely to be a ballistic missile appears to have already fallen."
Multiple Japanese government officials estimated that the North Korean missile fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
The Japan Coast Guard urged vessels navigating the area to pay close attention to future information.
