The urban regeneration project is aimed at revitalizing declining cities by introducing new functions and strengthening resident capabilities through the utilization of local resources, as well as creating key facilities, in response to population decline, changes in industrial structure, and aging residential environments.
This project involves establishing the Geumchon Civil-Military Complex Community Center to expand the insufficient public welfare and cultural infrastructure within the nearby living area, and simultaneously promoting street environment and park maintenance projects using locally specialized products to create safe and pleasant streetscapes.
The Geumchon Civil-Military Complex Community Center is located at 947-28 Geumchon-dong, Paju-si, and consists of two basement floors and four above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 5,652 square meters.
Built on the site of the former Paju Registry Office and Court in the old downtown area of Geumchon-dong, the space will provide a resting area for military personnel working in the district, as well as sequentially open facilities such as the 'DMZ Wildflower Experience Museum' to promote and exhibit local specialty products, a youth rest cafe, a youth startup support center, and the 'I Sarang Playground' offering play and rest spaces for adolescents.
