Krafton’s 'Lelugames' Releases AI Detective Game 'Uncover the Smoking Gun'
Applying the Interactive AI Service GPT-4o to Games
Krafton announced on the 24th that its subsidiary creative studio Lelu Games has officially released the AI detective game "Uncover the Smoking Gun (Smoking Gun)" on the global game distribution platform Steam.
Smoking Gun is a detective game set in the near future where robots and humans coexist. Players take on the role of an AI specialist detective, tracking clues to uncover the truth and find the culprit. Unlike traditional choice-based detective games, it progresses through free chat based on natural language processing, allowing players to interrogate robot suspects and investigate evidence.
Lelu Games customized OpenAI's recently released large language model (LLM)-based conversational AI service, GPT-4o, to fit the game using their own technology. Through this, the robot suspects in the game go beyond simply answering players' questions, providing an immersive experience as if chatting with real people, each speaking in a tone matching their assigned personality. The robot suspects sometimes give ambiguous statements or even retract their testimonies. Players must discern whether the robot suspects' statements are true or false and obtain answers that could be clues to the case through sharp questioning.
Lelu Games recently submitted a demo of Smoking Gun to Steam's new game showcase event, "Steam Next Fest." The demo attracted significant attention from global users due to its unique gameplay.
