A Taxi Welfare Center with a Maintenance Garage to Be Built in Bucheon... Completion Scheduled for May Next Year
Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province is building a 'Taxi Welfare Center' to improve the poor working conditions of taxi drivers.
The city plans to construct a three-story center on a 499㎡ site in Samjeong-dong, Ojeong-gu, with a total budget of 2.5 billion KRW, including 30% provincial funding. The center will house a maintenance shop, a taxi call center, and a lost and found storage facility.
The city recently started the design service and intends to expedite the project with a target completion date of May next year.

A Bucheon city official stated, "The Taxi Welfare Center will serve as a foundation to improve the working environment of taxi transportation workers, enhance service quality, and develop related industries," adding, "We will ensure the project is completed without any setbacks."
