BNK Busan Bank Launches Local Currency 'Busan Pay' for Foreign Tourists
Available via mobile app from the 20th
BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) announced on the 20th that it will launch the 'Busan Pay' service, based on the Dongbaekjeon Busan local currency, for foreign tourists visiting Busan.
As the operating agency for Dongbaekjeon, Busan's local currency, Busan Bank has prepared this service in line with Busan City's initiative to become an 'English-friendly city' and its leap toward becoming a global tourism city.
The main services of 'Busan Pay' include: ▲Dongbaekjeon cashback offers ▲Sales of the foreigner-exclusive tourism pass (VISIT BUSAN PASS) ▲Sales of 1-day and 3-day Busan Metro passes ▲Restaurant recommendations and travel guides.
'Busan Pay' allows users to easily sign up with just an email registration on the mobile app, and services can be used via card payment or QR payment methods. The 'Busan Pay Card' can be collected from dedicated kiosks installed at Gimhae Airport (domestic and international terminals), Busan Station, and seven tourist information centers.
More details can be found on the Busan Pay website.
Kim Jinhan, Head of Digital Finance at Busan Bank, said, "Busan Pay has enhanced user convenience by providing language support in English, Chinese, Japanese, and other major languages," adding, "We will continue to develop and expand Busan Pay so that foreign tourists visiting Busan and local small business owners can thrive together."
