The movie 'Veteran 2' is set to be released this September, distributor CJ ENM announced on the 20th. It is highly likely to premiere ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
'Veteran 2' is an action investigation drama where rookie detective Park Seon-woo (Jung Hae-in) joins veteran detective Seo Do-cheol's (Hwang Jung-min) violent crime investigation team to chase a serial killer who has shaken the world. The film was invited to the Midnight Screening section of the non-competitive category at the 77th Cannes Film Festival held last May. Screen Daily and the South China Morning Post, who watched the film at Cannes, praised it for having more intense action than the previous installment.
The first film was released in August 2015 and gained popularity by surpassing 10 million viewers. For the second installment, director Ryu Seung-wan returns to the helm, with actor Hwang Jung-min reprising his role as detective Seo Do-cheol, who relentlessly pursues the criminal. Jung Hae-in newly joins the cast as detective Park Seon-woo.
