Jangseong-gun Operates 'Namdo Safety School' for Seniors Aged 65 and Over
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is operating the 'Namdo Safety School' for local senior citizens.
According to the county on the 18th, the 'Namdo Safety School' is a customized education program aimed at preventing safety accidents and improving safety awareness among residents aged 65 and older. Instructors commissioned by Jeollanam-do visit senior centers and village halls directly to conduct the sessions.

The county plans to hold the school in 14 villages until the end of August.
On the 14th, education was provided to 182 seniors participating in the senior job project in Buk-myeon.
Over approximately 50 minutes, the program covered topics related to daily safety such as fire response, prevention of voice phishing, prevention of agricultural machinery accidents, and an introduction to the county residents' safety insurance, as well as seasonal and situational safety rules for heatwaves, earthquakes, and more.
Information on civil defense evacuation facility locations and radiation emergency shelters was also shared to prepare for effective response in case of disasters.
A county official stated, "We plan to expand the program to provide educational opportunities to more senior citizens," adding, "We also intend to conduct 'visiting safety education for vulnerable groups' targeting children and people with disabilities."
