Cycling Pilgrimage in Honor of 'Month of Patriots and Veterans'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 17th that Minister Yoon In-chon undertook a bicycle pilgrimage on the 15th to major battle sites and memorial facilities of the Korean War in Gangwon Province and Gyeonggi Province in observance of the 'Month of National Defense and Veterans (June).' The on-site inspection was accompanied by Cha Baek-seong, president of the ROTC National Bicycle Association and an expert in security and bicycle travel; Lee Hong-hee, former Marine Corps commander; Kim Tae-jin, former CEO of Korex; Na Do-chae, captain of the National Land Exploration Federation; and members of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's bicycle club.
Minister Yoon visited the Chuncheon District War Memorial and the Ethiopian Korean War Participation Memorial in Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province; the Commonwealth War Memorial, Australian Battle Memorial, New Zealand Battle Memorial, French Battalion Participation Memorial, Canadian Battle Memorial, and the United States Korean War Participation Memorial in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province.

He stated, "Following the battle sites in Goseong, Gangwon, and Ganghwa, Incheon, we plan to develop meaningful battle sites and memorial facilities scattered throughout the Korean Peninsula, including the Nakdong River Battle, into tourism products linked with storytelling and bicycle travel courses." He emphasized, "We will strengthen exchanges with participating countries in cooperation with related ministries and create opportunities to share the value of security on the Korean Peninsula with domestic and international visitors."
