Express Commitment to Narrow Differences
Concerns Raised Over KMA's Collective Strike on the 18th
The People Power Party's Special Committee on Medical Reform met with Lim Hyun-taek, president of the Korean Medical Association, on the 14th, but the meeting ended empty-handed. However, the committee is being praised for taking on the role of mediator in the conflict between the medical community and the government, opening the door to communication.
Inyo-han, the committee chairman, held a 40-minute meeting with President Lim in his office at the National Assembly Members' Office Building that afternoon. This is interpreted as an effort to prevent a larger social fallout following the Korean Medical Association's decision to hold a collective strike on the 18th.
