Dongmyung University Department of Hair Design Wins Grand Prix at International Beauty Master Contest
Awarded Best Educational Institution for 7 Consecutive Years, Sweeps Hair Category Awards
The Department of Hair Design at Tongmyong University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) received the Grand Prix Award, the highest honor in the hair category, and the Best Educational Institution Award for the seventh consecutive year at the International Beauty Master Contest held at the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 6th.
Students from the Tongmyong University Department of Hair Design swept the top prizes, including the Grand Prix Award for overall first place in the hair category (Lee Sujeong, 4th year), Grand Prix Award (Do Hyeonjeong, 4th year), Permanent Mixed Type Award (Lee Yoonju, 1st year), Cut Award (Yoon Juyeong, 1st year), Permanent Nine Sections Award (Kim Nakyeong, 2nd year), and Fashion Catwalk Award (Kim Yewon, 4th year).
Lee Sujeong, who won the Grand Prix Award for overall first place in the hair category, said, "I worked hard with my fellow students to prepare for the competition. I am proud to have achieved such good results, and I will devote myself even more to becoming a hair professional."
Kim Seoin, head of the Department of Hair Design, stated, "Through participating in the competition, I expect that students not only improved their major skills, but also learned perseverance and passion by overcoming the desire to play and practicing hard, realizing the common truth that hard work never betrays."
The Tongmyong University Department of Hair Design was the first four-year program to sign a school partnership with the London (Vidal) Sassoon Academy. At the end of May, the London Sassoon team visited Korea for the first time and held a seminar at Tongmyong University in Busan.

Additionally, the department has introduced a three-semester system per year (Work2Learn) and operates courses reflecting the needs of the beauty industry, such as education on hair loss, wigs, and SNS utilization skills.
