Naju City Successfully Hosts the 6th Naju Mayor's Cup Swimming Competition with 500 Participants
On the 5th, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that the "6th Naju Mayor's Cup Swimming Competition" was successfully concluded at the Naju Comprehensive Sports Park Indoor Swimming Pool.
Hosted and organized by the Naju Swimming Federation and sponsored by Naju City, this competition was divided into student division (individual and team events) and adult division (individual and team events). The adult division was further divided into eight groups according to age.
With participants recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, about 130 students and 370 adults, totaling approximately 500 swimming enthusiasts, registered for the event, reflecting the interest and popularity of swimming as a representative summer sport.
Before the main competition, the opening ceremony featured events such as scholarship awards and prize draws, which further heated up the atmosphere of the competition.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, "Thank you for participating in the sixth Mayor's Cup Swimming Competition held in Naju, which is rising as a sports mecca city. I hope swimming enthusiasts and athletes from across the country were able to fully demonstrate their skills they have honed and enjoyed Naju’s delicious food and wonderful sights."
Meanwhile, starting with the "6th Naju Mayor's Cup Swimming Competition," the city plans to contribute to revitalizing the local economy by hosting various sports competitions in June, including the "4th General Hong Beom-do Cup Shooting Competition."
