The World Class Korea 2024 final competition is a bartending skills contest among the top bartenders in Korea. Ten of the best bartenders in the country, selected through multiple stages of online and offline preliminaries since February, will participate. These bartenders will take on two challenges in the final competition: the 'Don Julio Ritual Challenge,' where they create cocktails based on Diageo's premium tequila 'Don Julio,' and the 'Speed Challenge,' where they perfectly make various cocktails in a short time. There is also keen interest in new interpretations of premium tequila, which has recently been spotlighted as a major trend in the liquor industry.
Now in its 15th year, World Class is the world's largest bartending competition hosted by Diageo to discover the next generation of bartenders. The final winner of World Class Korea, who achieves the highest score, will represent Korea at 'World Class Global,' where the best bartenders from over 60 countries gather. This year’s World Class Global competition is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, in September.
