Kyungnam University Selected as 'Best' for Two Consecutive Years in LINC 3.0 Project Annual Evaluation
Kyungnam University recently received the 'Excellent' grade in the second-year annual evaluation of the 3rd Phase Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation Project (LINC 3.0), hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea. Following its selection as an 'Excellent' project group in the first-year evaluation, the university has achieved this honor for two consecutive years, solidifying its status as a leading regionally-engaged university in the field of industry-academia cooperation.
Kyungnam University has focused on realizing a 'regionally inspiring, entrepreneurial university through industry-academia cooperation' in the demand-customized growth type, centered around the LINC 3.0 project group. Through these efforts, the university has achieved remarkable results, including nurturing talent that meets the needs of industry and future society, and presenting a new paradigm for entrepreneurial industry-academia-research cooperation.
In this evaluation, the LINC 3.0 project group received high marks for operating industry-academia-linked curricula in collaboration with local governments and establishing a joint cooperation system with local governments and related organizations connected to the RISE project. In particular, the key points were the major achievements in enhancing the university’s mid- to long-term development plan, the special efforts made for the advancement of industry-academia cooperation, and the implementation strategies pursued by the university.
Additionally, in building and generating results from the industry-academia-research shared cooperation platform, the university exceeded most performance targets, including the utilization of shared equipment, the number of paid family companies, research projects and technology transfers, and the number of curricula. The university was also recognized for its response to digital transformation, such as establishing global industry-academia-research educational models through 'Ilmeori Education', as well as non-face-to-face and blended learning-based education systems.
Park Eunju, head of the LINC 3.0 project group at Kyungnam University, said, "Achieving the 'Excellent' grade in the annual evaluation is the result of the collective efforts of Kyungnam University members, family companies, and the local community," and added, "We will do our best to further enhance Kyungnam University's brand value and ensure a smooth landing for the RISE project by improving youth settlement in the region and various other conditions."
