"No Drugs, So Why Arrest?"... American Female Rapper Live-Streams Her Arrest Scene
Famous US Rapper Nicki Minaj
Arrested and Released on Drug Possession Charges
Live-Streamed the Arrest Moment on SNS
Famous American rapper Nicki Minaj (41) was arrested on drug possession charges at a Dutch airport but was later released. On the 26th (local time), AP News and CNN reported that Minaj was trying to board a plane at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands to perform a concert in Manchester, UK, the previous day, when police found marijuana in her bag.
The Dutch military police stated that a 41-year-old American woman, whose name was not disclosed, was arrested on suspicion of smuggling "soft drugs," was fined, and then released.
After being detained by the police, Minaj live-streamed the moment she was being taken away on Instagram Live. In the video, the police told Minaj to get out of the vehicle and transfer to a police van. However, Minaj denied the accusation, saying, "I do not have any drugs." The police repeatedly told her to "stop filming" and escorted her to a nearby police station. Minaj reportedly claimed her marijuana belonged to her bodyguard and insisted, "They are being paid to do this to interfere with my tour performances," expressing her frustration.
The concert organizer stated in a press release, "Minaj did her best to explore every possible way to perform tonight, but the incident that happened today made it impossible."
Minaj later posted a video online apologizing, saying, "I love you all, and I am truly sorry that this happened tonight." She then revealed the name of the hotel where she was staying in Manchester via X, saying, "If you are outside, I will be on the balcony so you can see me."
