Gwangju Shinsegae Sponsored Gwangju Student Art Competition Successfully Concluded
Exhibition at Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery from May 31 to June 9
Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Dong-hoon) successfully concluded the '2024 Gwangju Student Art Competition,' sponsored to provide opportunities for local art talents.
The award ceremony for the 2024 Gwangju Student Art Competition, sponsored by Gwangju Shinsegae and co-hosted by the Gwangju Museum of Art and the Gwangju Art Association, was held on the 25th at the Gwangju Museum of Art.
The ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Kang Ki-jung, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Lee Dong-hoon, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, Kim Jun-ki, Director of the Gwangju Museum of Art, Kim Young-hee, Chairman of the Gwangju Art Association, and families of the participants.
The Gwangju Student Art Competition, organized to nurture bigger dreams for local aspiring artists, received 337 submissions from elementary, middle, and high school students in the Gwangju area, showing great enthusiasm.
To facilitate easy participation, the first round of submissions was accepted online. Works that passed the first screening were then physically submitted and underwent fair evaluation by professional judges. A total of 60 works were selected: 15 from lower elementary, 15 from upper elementary, 15 from middle school, and 15 from high school divisions.
The award-winning works will be exhibited at the Gwangju Museum of Art until the 29th, after which they will be moved to the Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery for public display. The exhibition at the Gwangju Shinsegae Gallery will run from May 31 to June 9.
