'Seoul Station Knife Attack Threat Post' Leads to Arrest of Man in His 30s
A man in his 30s who posted a message predicting a random stabbing at Seoul Station is now facing detention.
On the afternoon of the 26th, Chief Judge Lee Chang-yeol of Criminal Division 4 at the Seoul Northern District Court held a pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant review) for A (33), who is accused of threats and obstruction of official duties. The decision on detention is expected as early as that day.
At around 3:58 p.m., after the hearing, A remained silent when reporters asked whether he had actual intent to commit the crime and why he posted the message.
According to the police, A is suspected of posting a message on the DC Inside gallery on the 22nd at 1:42 p.m. stating, "I will carry out a stabbing at Seoul Station on the 24th. I will kill 50 men and women, anyone."
In response, the police received a report about the threatening post and requested manpower support from the railway police to strengthen patrols at Seoul Station and nearby stations.

On the 24th, the police executed a search warrant on DC Inside, analyzed the data, and arrested A at his home in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, at around 7:20 p.m. the same day.
