‘Jingman’ Trainer Hwang Cheolsun on Trial for Assault Causing Injury to Woman
Sports trainer Hwang Cheol-soon (40), who became famous as 'Jingman' on a comedy program, has been confirmed to be on trial for assaulting a female acquaintance.
According to the legal community on the 23rd, Hwang was indicted in February on charges of assault, injury by assault, and property damage, and is currently on trial under Judge Park So-jung of the Criminal Division 2 at the Seoul Central District Court.
Hwang is accused of hitting the victim, Ms. A, more than 20 times on the face and head with his fists and repeatedly kicking her face during an argument in an outdoor parking lot of a building in Yeosu-si, Jeollanam-do, on October 16 last year.
It was also investigated that Hwang grabbed Ms. A by the hair, dragged her to a vehicle, seated her in the passenger seat, and assaulted her with his hands. During this process, he is also accused of throwing Ms. A's cellphone to the ground, breaking it, and punching the driver's door, causing dents.
Due to Hwang's assault, Ms. A sustained injuries including fractures requiring three weeks of treatment. Additionally, the indictment includes charges that on August 1 of the same year, Hwang assaulted Ms. A at his residence by hitting her head 2 to 3 times and pulling her hair.
