Gwangjin-gu Operates Integrated Reporting System for Parking and Stopping Violations
Integrated System Established for Simultaneous Handling of Abandoned Bicycles and Personal Mobility Device Complaints
Report Devices and Location Information for Filing... Real-Time Processing Results Provided
Expectations for Improved Resident Convenience and Safe Walking Environment through Prompt Complaint Handling
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is operating an 'Integrated Reporting System for Abandoned Bicycle and Personal Mobility Device (shared kickboard, electric bicycle) Parking Violations' to create a pleasant and safe walking environment.
While personal mobility device reporting systems are also implemented by Seoul City and other districts, Gwangjin-gu has established the 'nation's first' integrated system that allows reporting of abandoned bicycles as well.
Recently, the number of recklessly abandoned bicycles and personal mobility devices has rapidly increased, frequently causing pedestrian safety issues. Last year, Gwangjin-gu received a total of 3,844 parking violation complaints, including 2,126 abandoned bicycles and 1,718 personal mobility devices.
Until now, the complaint channels for illegally abandoned bicycles and personal mobility devices were via phone calls and response centers, causing various inconveniences for complainants.
Accordingly, the district established a system to enable prompt relocation of illegally parked abandoned bicycles and personal mobility devices, and began full-scale operation from May.
Residents who identify parking violations of abandoned bicycles or shared kickboards (including electric bicycles) can report them through the integrated system on the Gwangjin-gu Office website. Reports can be easily made by entering the device and location information, and the processing results are provided to the reporter in real time.
With the establishment of this integrated system, it is expected that complaint channels will diversify and complaint processing will become faster.
