Hwasun-gun and Council Visit China to Promote International Exchange
Strengthening Cooperation in Various Fields Including Economy, Culture, Tourism, and Private Exchange
Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) and the Hwasun County Council (Chairman Ha Seong-dong) visited China to promote international exchanges.
According to Hwasun County on the 22nd, the delegation visited Nanjing County in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, and Tiantai County in Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, from the 12th to the 17th.
They exchanged letters of intent for international friendship exchanges and invitation letters, agreeing to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as economy, culture, tourism, and civil exchanges.
This visit was promoted as part of efforts to enhance Hwasun County's external status by resuming international exchange activities that had been stagnant since COVID-19.
First, they visited Nanjing County in Zhangzhou City, where, with the attendance of Deputy County Head Jian Fuxiang of Nanjing County, they exchanged letters of intent to activate exchanges and mutual development in various fields including administration, economy, culture, education, agriculture, and civil sectors, and explored orchid industry development plans by directly visiting orchid cultivation sites.
Hwasun County signed a business agreement in the orchid industry sector with Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City, last April and has been discussing friendly exchanges since then.
They also visited Tiantai County in Taizhou City, a sister city, held a mutual invitation letter exchange ceremony for representative festivals, attended the ‘Hwajeong Ungeum Dugyeon Festival,’ and visited the Harmony Cultural Center and Guqing Temple.
The invitation letter exchange ceremony was attended by Tian Tian, Party Secretary of Tiantai County, and letters were exchanged inviting each other to the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival and Taizhou City’s ‘Harmony’ Cultural Festival.
Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province, began friendly exchanges with Hwasun County in 2001, with notable exchanges especially in education and tourism.
