Delivery of Educational Equipment to Haenam Masan Elementary School
Rental Housing Support for Transferring Families
The Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is joining hands with E-Mart to support schools facing closure.
The Foundation announced that on the 22nd, it held a ceremony to deliver educational equipment at Masan Elementary School located in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, together with E-Mart. This event was organized as part of the 'Public-Private Joint Rural Empty House Regeneration Project,' which involves the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Jeollanam-do, and Haenam County. Since last year, the Foundation and E-Mart have been operating the 'Saving Small Schools Project,' which revitalizes regions and schools at risk of disappearance by raising a 400 million KRW fund for rural-urban win-win cooperation.
At the delivery ceremony, representatives from the Foundation, E-Mart, Haenam County, and the Masan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee attended and handed over educational equipment to the school. The educational equipment, worth a total of 40 million KRW, includes educational tablet PCs, coding education robots, and learning aids.
Through this project, the Foundation and E-Mart also plan to support remodeling of empty houses in the Masan-myeon area of Haenam County. The Masan-myeon Residents' Autonomy Committee will recruit families transferring to live in rental housing, and Haenam County will provide housing management and job support for relocating families.
