Fire in Multi-family House in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul... One Woman in Her 60s Dies
A fire broke out in a multi-family house located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a woman in her 60s.
According to the fire authorities on the 19th, the fire occurred at around 2:33 a.m. in the living room on the 2nd floor of a multi-family house with a basement level 1 to ground level 2 in Sangwolgok-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. The fire department deployed 77 personnel and 14 vehicles and completely extinguished the fire by 2:59 a.m., 26 minutes later.
Due to the fire, a woman identified as Ms. A (69), who lived on the 2nd floor, died. Ms. A was found in cardiac arrest and was transported to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but ultimately passed away. The other five residents living on the basement 1st floor and ground 1st floor evacuated following the guidance of the firefighters. The fire caused partial scorching of the house and burning of household goods, resulting in property damage estimated at 40,578,000 KRW.
