Gijang-gun Installs Blood Pressure Monitors in All Senior Centers
Gijang-gun, Korean Senior Citizens Association Gijang-gun Branch, and Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters Collaborate
209 Additional Blood Pressure Monitors Installed at Senior Centers Without Devices
Gijang-gun, Busan, is implementing a project to provide blood pressure monitors to senior community centers in order to support the health management of elderly residents who use these facilities.
This initiative aims to alleviate the inconvenience of seniors having to visit health centers or hospitals to check their blood pressure and to help them better manage their health. The project is being carried out in cooperation with Gijang-gun, the Gijang-gun branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association, and the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Kori Headquarters, targeting senior centers that do not yet have blood pressure monitors installed.
Through this project, the county will purchase and provide 114 blood pressure monitors to senior centers in Gijang-eup and Cheolma-myeon. Additionally, the Gijang-gun branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association will distribute 95 blood pressure monitors to senior centers in Jangan-eup, Jeonggwan-eup, and Ilgwang-eup, supported by the "Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Kori Headquarters Business Support Project." As a result, all 302 senior centers and 7 branches of the Korean Senior Citizens Association in Gijang-gun will be equipped with blood pressure monitors.
An official from the county stated that this support project is expected to help create an environment where seniors can manage their own health at senior centers, thereby facilitating the early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension.
