Chungnam Province Supports Housing for Returning Young Farmers and Settlers... 500 Public Rental Houses to Be Built
Targeting 9 Cities and Counties with Population Decline Including Gongju and Boryeong
Chungnam Province has launched a project to build a detached housing complex for young people returning to farming and rural areas.
On the 16th, the province held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first 'Chungnam-style Rural Live Together' project in Buyeo-gun.
The province will provide 500 public rental houses to young farmers and those wishing to return to farming in nine population-declining cities and counties: Gongju, Boryeong, Nonsan, Geumsan, Buyeo, Seocheon, Cheongyang, Yesan, and Taean. Special supply will be offered to village residents who wish to relocate and to actual residents of aging rural houses.
The houses will come equipped with basic amenities such as system air conditioners, sinks, and built-in closets. Notably, after renting for 10 years, tenants who wish to purchase can buy the house at prices comparable to nearby rural housing market rates.
In Buyeo-gun, selected as the first project site, 13 billion KRW will be invested to supply 20 units of 85㎡ detached houses with attached warehouses (12.54㎡). Community facilities for residents to communicate will also be provided.
Applications will open from August, with move-in scheduled to begin next year.
