Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold the ‘2024 Gwangjin Banham Festival’ with pets at Gwangjin Supnaru on the 25th and 26th.
Now in its 4th year, the ‘Banham Festival’ is a representative pet culture festival where pet owners, non-pet owners, and pets come together. Gwangjin-gu, Konkuk University Campus Town Project Group, and the Konkuk University College of Veterinary Medicine Student Council have collaborated to prepare a variety of experiential events.
On the opening day, the 25th, a pet fashion show and sports events will take place. Events such as the ‘Petiquette Sports Day,’ where pets overcome obstacles, and the ‘Godzilla Game,’ which involves knocking down blocks, are prepared. The ‘Wait Sports Day,’ where participants complete missions with their dogs, also awaits attendees.
On the second day, the 26th, a special lecture will be held. Dr. Lee Woo-jang, a specialist in behavioral therapy, will teach how to live healthily with pets for a long time. Afterwards, bingo games, canicross, and talent shows will begin, and certificates will be awarded to the dogs and owners who demonstrate the best skills.
Various side events will also be held. Experience booths such as ‘Meong Quiz on the Banham,’ ‘Dog Olympics,’ and ‘Petaro & MBTI’ will be operated. Additionally, participants can make dog snacks, paw print frames, and toys. There will also be promotions for adopting abandoned dogs, photo zones, food trucks, and flea markets, allowing non-pet owners to participate without burden.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “In an era of 15 million pet owners, we have prepared a festival space where people and animals coexist harmoniously,” adding, “We hope everyone spends happy and precious time with their beloved pets.”
