Jeongeup-si to Host 'Wagle Wagle Market Song Festival' at Saemgoeul Market on the 21st

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 16th that it will hold the ‘Wagle Wagle Market Song Festival’ at 2 p.m. on the 21st at the special stage in Saemgoeul Market, Jeongeup City.

The song festival will proceed in the order of a commemorative ceremony, citizen singing contest, invited singer congratulatory performances, and a lucky draw.

Citizens can apply for the singing contest through the Saemgoeul Market Merchants Association, and the preliminary round will be held at 11 a.m. on the same day.

The festival will feature comedian Hwang Gi-sun as the host and performances by invited singers Han Hye-jin, Shin In-sun, Lee Dae-won, and Heo Mi-ra (Gahee), creating a lively market atmosphere.

Additionally, through the lucky draw, generous prizes such as Onnuri gift certificates, bicycles, travel suitcases, and frying pan sets will be awarded.

This song festival is hosted and organized by the Jeonbuk Merchants Association, Saemgoeul Market Merchants Association, and JTV Jeonju Broadcasting, and supported by Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Jeongeup City to widely promote the history and tradition of Saemgoeul Market and revitalize the traditional market.

Lee Heung-gu, president of the Saemgoeul Merchants Association, said, “I hope this Wagle Wagle Market Song Festival will be an event where people can enjoy themselves, shop at the traditional market, and feel warm affection together.”
