Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do visited Hau Giang Province and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for a 3-night, 4-day trip from the 13th to the 16th.
According to the county, the delegation was led by Seo Soon-cheol, Deputy Governor of Gangjin, and included Lee Byung-sam, Superintendent of Gangjin Office of Education, Jeong Tae-won, Principal of Jeonnam Life Science High School, and six others who participated to attract overseas Vietnamese students.
On the 14th, the Gangjin delegation visited the People's Committee of Hau Giang Province and held a "Gangjin-gun Overseas Student Recruitment Business Briefing."

At this business briefing, the passionate introduction of Jeonnam Life Science High School by Principal Jeong Tae-won and Director Oh Seong-woo of the International Exchange Department, along with a school promotional video filmed by students themselves with Vietnamese subtitles, attracted great interest.
Additionally, an online business agreement (MOU) for overseas student recruitment between Gangjin-gun and Hau Giang Province is scheduled to be signed soon via a video conferencing system.
Lee Byung-sam, Superintendent of Gangjin Office of Education, expressed gratitude for Jeonnam Life Science High School's strong commitment to recruiting overseas students and promised that the Gangjin Office of Education would actively cooperate by listening to and coordinating the opinions of Gangjin-gun and Jeonnam Life Science High School.
A student, referred to as Student A, who hopes to enroll next year said, "Through this briefing, I learned about Gangjin-gun in Korea for the first time. I think it is a warm city, and I will do my best to enroll in Jeonnam Life Science High School in March next year," showing excitement.
After the overseas student recruitment business briefing, the Gangjin delegation actively engaged in recruitment activities by visiting local middle schools with the highest demand and holding briefings for students who could not attend the main session.
Gangjin-gun was designated as a pilot area for educational development special zones in February and aims to recruit outstanding Vietnamese overseas students to Jeonnam Life Science High School, targeting enrollment in March next year. Furthermore, in March 2026, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education plans to establish Jeonnam International Vocational High School in Gangjin-gun, where a large number of overseas students are expected to enroll.

Gangjin County Governor Kang Jin-won said, "We will prepare various measures through expanded exchanges and cooperation so that outstanding Vietnamese students can settle in Gangjin as professional farmers and contribute to the region in their respective fields."
