Two Suspects Arrested for Concealing Narcotics in 'Wine Bottles and Milk Tea Sticks'
Two Accomplices Subject to Interpol Red Notice
Suspects attempting to smuggle drugs hidden in French wine and milk tea sticks into the country for distribution were apprehended by the police.

On the 16th, the Drug Crime Investigation Unit of the Metropolitan Investigation Division at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had arrested and detained Mr. A, suspected of attempting to manufacture and sell methamphetamine, and Mr. B, suspected of smuggling Lumira and Pregabalin. Arrest warrants were issued for accomplices Mr. C and Mr. D, and Interpol red notices were requested.
Mr. A, a Chinese national, is accused of processing raw materials contained in liquid form in six bottles of wine at a hotel in Incheon from the 3rd to the 15th of last month, under the direction of an overseas mastermind, to manufacture approximately 5.6 kg of methamphetamine.
On the 23rd of the same month, Mr. A was caught by police who were lying in wait at the scene while attempting to sell about 2 kg of methamphetamine. The police seized 3.6 kg of methamphetamine and 300 ml of raw materials from the hotel. The street value is estimated at 18.6 billion KRW, enough for simultaneous use by 186,000 people.
Additionally, Mr. B is suspected of smuggling 45.6 liters of the psychotropic drug Lumira, concealed in milk tea sticks in Shenyang, China, and the prescription drug Pregabalin contained in bottles of a famous Chinese liquor, during February and March. The police received intelligence that drugs disguised as milk tea stick packets were being smuggled in large quantities into the country, leading to Mr. B’s arrest on March 3rd and subsequent detention.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency plans to conduct year-round, continuous crackdowns not only on drug smuggling and large-scale distribution offenders but also on drug users, in connection with intensive drug enforcement operations. Furthermore, they intend to carry out international joint investigations through close cooperation with local law enforcement agencies in the countries of residence, aiming to promptly secure the suspects and ensure they are strictly punished under domestic law.
