Woongjin ThinkBig Establishes DX Business Division... Accelerates Global Expansion
Largest Organizational Restructuring Since CEO Lee Bong-ju's Appointment
Preparing Global Business for New Products and Unreleased Projects
Woongjin ThinkBig is accelerating its push into the global market.
Woongjin ThinkBig announced on the 16th that it has established a DX (Digital Transformation) Business Division to respond to the rapidly growing global edutech market and accelerate the expansion of its overseas business.
This establishment of the new business division is the largest organizational restructuring since CEO Lee Bong-ju took office in January this year. The company plans to maximize organizational efficiency and global division capabilities by integrating the previously independently operated development and business organizations and adding a new business sector to launch the DX Business Division.
The new division plans to enhance localization policies for existing export products, including ‘ARpedia,’ which has already established a unique position in the augmented reality reading sector through a Disney IP collaboration series after expanding into 17 countries, and ‘MathFeed,’ an AI-based calculation application with a global cumulative download record of 3 million, while accelerating the discovery of new markets.
They are preparing multiple projects that are being developed from the ground up to be tailored to local markets, including an English metaverse (extended virtual world) learning service scheduled for release within the year.
Woongjin ThinkBig appointed Executive Director Won Man-ho, who has led digital business divisions in various industries including Naver and Hyundai Card, as the head of the DX Business Division. Executive Director Won plans to lead the overall growth of global business from overseas market entry to establishment with localization strategies tailored to each product.
Meanwhile, Woongjin ThinkBig has been providing new smart educational learning environments and services by introducing IT technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), metaverse, and generative AI into its educational products for many years. In particular, it has expanded its influence beyond borders by participating in various overseas education fairs with educational solutions that break down language and device barriers, and ‘ARpedia’ has won the CES Innovation Award for three consecutive years through 2024.
