Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Attends Buddhist Ceremony Celebrating Buddha's Birthday
On the morning of the 15th, Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the local temples ‘Seokbulsa’ and ‘Seongrimsa’ in succession to commemorate Buddha's Birthday in the year 2568 of the Buddhist calendar, and attended the celebration ceremonies at each temple.
At Seokbulsa, located in Mapo-dong, Mapo District, which is also one of the meal service institutions for filial piety involving community participation, Mayor Park expressed his gratitude to the venerable Gyeongryun and other Seokbulsa monks and Buddhists who dedicate themselves to the local community.
Next, visiting Seongrimsa in Seongsan-dong, Mayor Park delivered a congratulatory address commemorating Buddha's Birthday to the monks and Buddhists of Seongrimsa, including Venerable Gwangyong and Venerable Hyeondam.
