Walmart Restructures Workforce...Hundreds Laid Off and Reassigned
U.S. Walmart has initiated restructuring involving layoffs of several hundred employees and workforce reallocation, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 13th (local time).
According to the report, Walmart recently reduced several hundred jobs. Additionally, most remote workers have been asked to return to the office.
For employees in small offices in Dallas, Atlanta, Toronto, and other locations, sources said they have been requested to relocate to major hubs such as Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, Hoboken, New Jersey, and Southern California.

Walmart is one of the largest employers in the U.S., with 1.6 million employees nationwide. Last month, it closed 51 health clinics as part of recent cost-cutting efforts. This restructuring and workforce reallocation are also seen as part of these efforts.
