Suwon City to Establish Housing Policy This Year... Focus on 'Inclusion, Stability, and Sustainability'
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has prepared and is implementing the ‘2024 Housing Welfare Implementation Plan,’ focusing on inclusion, stability, and sustainability.
On the 14th, Suwon City announced that this year’s housing welfare policy will be promoted under three themes: ▲Inclusive Suwon-type Housing Policy ▲Stable Housing Environment ▲Sustainable Housing Community.
The inclusive Suwon-type housing policy moves away from uniform and passive housing welfare policies that provide housing services only to specific groups such as vulnerable and low-income households. Instead, it promotes a customized housing welfare policy tailored to Suwon’s regional characteristics, resources, and agenda.
The stable housing environment focuses on visible and sustainable housing environment improvement projects through establishing systems to improve housing conditions, developing independent public housing models, urban regeneration, and green remodeling.
The sustainable housing community promotes broad housing policies aimed at restoring village communities where diverse social groups live together.
Suwon City has set five strategies to promote these projects: strengthening support for vulnerable housing groups (Supporting), expanding public housing supply (Housing), building a foundation for housing welfare promotion (Organizing), improving the housing environment of aging houses (Modifying), and creating housing communities for all (Enhancing).
Key detailed projects include ▲introducing and announcing Suwon-type housing standards ▲housing search and contract support projects ▲operation of the family care community housing ‘Hug & Hub’ ▲support for jeonse deposit return guarantee fees ▲Suwon City Station Area Saebit Youth Zone ▲establishment and operation of an online integrated housing welfare information platform ▲promotion of vacant house and small-scale housing maintenance projects ▲expansion of home repair support and establishment of an integrated platform ▲support for village community resident proposal contest projects ▲and sustainable safe village management.
