Gwangju Seo-gu Achieves 'Highest Grade' for Two Consecutive Years in Pledge Implementation Evaluation
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, achieved the remarkable feat of receiving the highest grade (SA) in the ‘2024 2nd Year of the 8th Local Government Heads’ Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation’ conducted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
According to Seo-gu on the 10th, the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters evaluated the election pledge fulfillment performance as of the end of December 2023 in five areas: ▲Pledge Fulfillment Completion (100 points) ▲2023 Goal Achievement (100 points) ▲Resident Communication (100 points) ▲Web Communication (Pass/Fail) ▲Pledge Consistency (Pass/Fail).
The evaluation grades consist of five levels (SA, A, B, C, D), and Seo-gu received a score of 83 or higher in the comprehensive evaluation, being selected for the second consecutive year as ‘Highest Grade (SA).’
Since the launch of the 8th local government, Seo-gu has conducted a fair pledge fulfillment evaluation through a randomly selected resident jury panel, revised ordinances related to pledges, and established manifesto pledges on the main page of the district office website to ensure residents’ accessibility to pledge projects and the democracy of pledge fulfillment.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “Taking this evaluation result as an opportunity, we will carry out our pledges faithfully with a greater sense of responsibility and open communication with residents, doing our best to realize Seo-gu as a good city.”
Meanwhile, as of the end of last year, Seo-gu achieved a fulfillment rate of 65.3% for 49 pledge projects across five major areas: ▲Village-centered Autonomous City ▲Alley-centered Economic City ▲People-centered Welfare City ▲Ecology-centered Safe City ▲Happiness-centered Cultural City.
