Cho Kuk: "If President Yoon is confirmed to be involved in the Marine Corps death incident, impeachment is possible"
"Claims of 'Guidelines Presented for Kim Geon-hee Investigation'"
"Saying No Boundary Means Not Wanting to Meet" Criticism
Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, said on the 10th, "If the special prosecutor for Marine Corps Chae confirms President Yoon Seok-yeol's involvement in the death of a Marine Corps member, it will be grounds for presidential impeachment." Jo appeared on the News Tomato program 'Park Ji-hoon's News Is It'.
The host asked Jo about the specific methods for the 'early termination of the regime' that he has advocated so far, and Jo replied, "I think there can be various ways to achieve early termination." In response to the host's question, "Does that include impeachment?" he said, "President Yoon's illegality must be confirmed," and added, "If the special prosecutor for Marine Corps Chae confirms the president's involvement, it is possible."
Cho Kuk, leader of the Innovation Party for the Nation, is delivering a congratulatory speech on the morning of the 8th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido, Seoul, at a prosecution reform forum co-hosted by the office of Kim Yong-min of the Democratic Party of Korea and the office of Hwang Un-ha of the Innovation Party for the Nation.

Jo said, "According to the media, Marine Corps Commander Kim Gye-hwan reportedly told former Marine Corps Investigation Unit Chief Park Jung-hoon that 'President Yoon was furious,'" adding, "If it is confirmed that the president's words during his anger involved illegal interference and instructions in the investigation, that would immediately be grounds for impeachment." He continued, "Just like the logic used when President Yoon prosecuted former Park Geun-hye administration officials and former Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Woo Byung-woo, this is clearly an abuse of power and investigation pressure," and asserted, "President Yoon himself would not only be the subject of investigation but impeachment is fully possible."
Jo also criticized the prosecution's investigation into allegations of luxury handbag bribery involving President Yoon's wife, Kim Geon-hee, saying, "President Yoon once again set guidelines for the investigation during his press conference." He said, "Didn’t President Yoon call the allegations against Mrs. Kim a 'political attack'? That was President Yoon himself saying 'this is not a subject of investigation,'" criticizing him. Regarding the prosecution's investigation into Kim Geon-hee's alleged stock manipulation of Deutsche Motors, Jo slammed President Yoon's stance that "the prosecution fiercely investigated me for about two and a half years during the previous administration, even deploying the special investigation unit," calling it "wordplay."
Furthermore, Jo commented on President Yoon's remarks at the two-year inauguration press conference the day before, where he mentioned the possibility of meeting Jo and Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party, saying, "I will never draw a line with any politician and will always keep the door open." Jo said, "I think the real intention is that he does not want to meet Jo Guk or Lee Jun-seok." He added, "Since Hong Cheol-ho, the senior secretary for political affairs, took office, there has been no contact at all," and said, "He answered to appear bold in front of reporters' questions, but we need to see if I will receive a call from Yongsan (the presidential office)."

Finally, ahead of the April 10 National Assembly general election, Jo, who has repeatedly shouted that "three years is too long," diagnosed that cracks have already formed in the Yoon Seok-yeol administration due to the ruling party's defeat in the general election. He continued, "The Jo Guk Innovation Party and I will do our best to widen those cracks," and predicted, "Once the public becomes aware of the reality and loses fear of the regime, the people will step forward for early termination."
