Busan Office of Education Operates 'True Person Classroom with Parents'
Character Education with Parents for Busan Elementary Students
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the "True Person Classroom with Parents" twice every Saturday until the end of November this year at "Yejongwon" in Busanjin-gu, targeting about 1,100 elementary school students and their parents.
"True Person" refers to someone whose mind and actions are sincere and righteous. This classroom is designed as an activity for children and parents to participate together to foster a warm educational culture of respect and consideration.
The Office of Education runs this classroom as a two-hour experiential program utilizing instructors specialized in traditional games and tea ceremony education.
Participants learn heartful communication methods expressed beautifully, language etiquette and precautions during conversations. They also spend time encouraging, empathizing, and communicating with each other through traditional games that promote physical and mental health.
In particular, through the "Character Practice Tea Ceremony Education," participants experience brewing tea with love and sincerity. They learn the etiquette and posture when sharing tea with their parents at the tea gathering, and by offering the brewed tea to their parents, they understand the meanings of filial piety, love, consideration, and empathy.
Those wishing to participate can apply on a first-come, first-served basis through the Yejongwon website at least five days before the experience date.
