Anseong-si Promotes '2024 Cheongsonyeon Homestay Project'
14-Day Event Held in Brea City, USA
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that it will carry out the '2024 Youth Homestay Program' with its sister city Brea in California, USA, for 14 days from January 6 to 19 next year.
This program aims to cultivate an international mindset through local cultural experiences for regional youth. Since signing a sister city agreement with Brea in 2011, Anseong City has conducted the program 12 times targeting middle school students until last year.
The program consists of participation in regular classes at Brea’s middle and high schools, one-on-one matching with local students, and visits to institutions related to culture, arts, science, and politics.
The city explained that it will especially expand the eligibility and relax conditions for participation in this year’s homestay program. To this end, the target group has been expanded to include out-of-school youth as well as middle school students, the academic achievement requirement has been removed from the application qualifications, and the application period has been extended. Additionally, pre-education will be strengthened to prevent local safety accidents, and a project performance report meeting will be held after the program’s completion.
The number of participants is 30, and those wishing to participate can submit their application forms by visiting the Future Education Division of Anseong City Hall individually from July 1 to 19.
