Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Presents Participatory Performance at Cheongwadae
Every Wednesday at the Main Building 'Blue House'
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will present ‘Blue House’ at the Blue House Main Building every Wednesday from the 8th to July 10th, marking the 2nd anniversary of the Blue House opening. This performance combines various arts such as theater, gugak (traditional Korean music), jazz, Korean dance, and video art. It highlights ordinary people who become historical protagonists in a time where individual fate and will intersect.
The audience enters the banquet guided by a virtual character named Cheonghoin. They enjoy video art installations set up in the lobby and explore various parts of the main building while following lively music and the actors’ choreography. Director Kang Nak-hyun said, “I directed the story of a challenging life in a humorous atmosphere to evoke empathy,” adding, “The special space of the Blue House will add vitality to the performance.”

The performance lasts 45 minutes. Advance reservations (70 people) are available on the Blue House website. On-site applications (30 people) are accepted at the Blue House main gate until 7:50 PM. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official said, “We hope this performance will establish the Blue House as a representative cultural landmark of the Republic of Korea.”
