Installation of Summit Marker Stone at Gidae-bong Peak, Ulleungdo
Hanmoe Park Kyungwon Talent Donation Production
On May 1st, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk installed a marker stone at the summit of Gitdaebong (605.6m) located in Nari, Buk-myeon.
The Gitdaebong hiking trail was established in 2016. Although it is not higher than Seonginbong, the summit boasts an open view where Seonginbong, Nari, Pyeongri, Hyeonpo, and Chusan areas can all be seen, making it a popular spot for many residents and tourists.
The Gitdaebong summit marker stone was made in 2018 using a stone that fell from Gadubong to the roadside of the circular road (0.9m wide, 1.6m tall, weighing 1.4 tons). The inscription on the marker was created through the talent donation of Park Kyungwon Hanmoe, the director of Yerimwon and a teacher at the Ulleung Calligraphy Association, adding special significance.
