Hamas Attack Survivors Sue US Pro-Palestinian Group
On the 2nd (local time), The Washington Post (WP) reported that Israelis who survived the surprise attack by the Palestinian armed group Hamas last October have filed a lawsuit against pro-Palestinian organizations in the United States.
According to the report, they filed a monetary damages lawsuit against two organizations, "American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)" and the "National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP)," at the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia.
Among the nine plaintiffs, six are survivors of the Hamas attack, and one is a bereaved family member whose sibling died in the Hamas attack. The plaintiffs described the two organizations as "propaganda arms of a terrorist group operating in plain sight" and claimed that they "are planning to occupy dozens of college campuses across the United States."
They also pointed out, "The message AMP sends to universities through NSJP is clear," stating that "violent attacks against Zionism as an ideology, Israel as an entity, and Zionist individuals are justified."

The defendant AMP has opposed the lawsuit, arguing that it infringes on freedom of the press and assembly. They said, "We will defend ourselves," and criticized, "This lawsuit is anti-Palestinian racism, defamation aimed at avoiding mass genocide in the Gaza Strip, and Islamophobic."
