Gangnam-gu, Ministry of Employment and Labor, and Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency Collaborate to Achieve Zero Serious Accidents
Joint Project to Enhance Safety of Local Workplaces Following Application of Serious Accident Punishment Act to Workplaces with 5 to Less Than 50 Employees
Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) signed a business agreement on the 29th at the district office with the Seoul Gangnam Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Seoul Metropolitan Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency to prevent serious accidents.
Since the Serious Accident Punishment Act was expanded on January 27 to apply to workplaces with 5 to fewer than 50 employees and construction sites with a project amount of less than 5 billion KRW, the three organizations will jointly promote industrial accident prevention projects targeting small and medium-sized workplaces. They plan to enhance workplace safety in the region through ▲industrial accident prevention campaigns ▲support for professional safety and health education instructors ▲safety and health consulting.
After the agreement ceremony, at 2 p.m. on the same day, professional instructors from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency conducted training on establishing safety and health management systems for business owners and workers of small workplaces with fewer than 50 employees at the Cheongdam Lifelong Learning Center.
