Gwangju Seo-gu Conducts Integrity Training for Public Officials
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 29th that it conducted an integrity education session titled "Integrity Close to Us" for about 100 public officials, including Mayor Kim Ikang, senior officials, promoted employees, and new hires.
The education was organized to enhance employees' awareness of integrity through training on preventing corruption such as improper solicitation and bribery, as well as preventing abuse of power.
On the 29th, integrity education was conducted for about 100 public officials under the theme "Integrity Close to Us."

Yoonmi Lee, a specialized integrity instructor from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, delivered the lecture by explaining the Code of Conduct for Public Officials and the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act with case-centered examples for easy understanding, and also provided education on drunk driving penalties and cases.
Mayor Kim Ikang said, "It was a time to once again reflect on the meaning of integrity, the most fundamental and important virtue of public officials," and added, "I hope all employees actively participate in creating a transparent and honest organizational culture."
Meanwhile, Seo-gu is implementing various policies to improve integrity, including issuing corruption alerts and integrity advisories, evaluating senior officials' integrity, conducting integrity quizzes, operating an integrity keeper group, and sending integrity letters. As a result of these efforts, Seo-gu achieved a grade 2 in the 2023 Public Institution Integrity Evaluation hosted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, rising two levels from grade 4 last year.
