Gyeonggi-do to Support Home Repair Costs for Small Multi-family Housing Starting Next Year
Gyeonggi Province will support home repair costs not only for old single-family houses but also for small-scale multi-family and row houses starting next year.
On the 29th, Gyeonggi Province announced that the “Gyeonggi Province Single Residential Area Home Repair Support Ordinance Amendment” containing this content was approved as originally proposed at the 2nd plenary session of the 374th extraordinary meeting of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council on the 26th. The ordinance will take effect from January 1 next year.
According to the ordinance amendment, Gyeonggi Province will unify the “Single-Family House Home Repair Support Project” and the “Small-Scale Multi-Family Housing Management Support Project” into the “Small-Scale Old Housing Home Repair Support Project,” and will promote a customized home repair support project to improve the residential environment not only for single-family houses but also for small-scale multi-family and row houses. The specific scale and method of support will be finalized after detailed discussions.
Previously, through the “Single-Family House Home Repair Support Project,” home repair costs of up to 12 million KRW were supported for old single-family houses over 20 years old located in declining old downtown areas or areas where New Town projects were canceled.

The problem was that residents of small-scale multi-family housing living in poor residential environments could not receive separate support for internal home repair costs except for common facilities.
Kim Tae-su, Director of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, “With this ordinance amendment, support for internal functional improvements of small-scale multi-family housing with poor residential environments has become possible,” and added, “We will actively promote the home repair support project to improve vulnerable residential facilities susceptible to flooding, hygiene, and fire, as well as the residential environment of residents.”
