Gwangju Dong-gu Signs Agreement with KT to Promote Reusable Cup Usage
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it signed an agreement with KT Corporation on the 22nd to promote the use of reusable cups in order to reduce the use of disposable products.
Through this agreement, KT employees working at the KT Gwangju Tower have joined the 'Reusable Cup Usage Promotion Project,' which was previously participated in by Dong-gu office employees.
Since launching the 'Reusable Cup Usage Promotion Public Institution Pilot Project' in October 2022, Dong-gu has been encouraging the use of reusable cups and leading all employees in reducing disposable product usage.
The participation method is simple. When Dong-gu office employees order takeout beverages at nearby partner cafes, their drinks are served in reusable cups provided by Dong-gu instead of disposable cups. Used cups are returned to one of the three reusable cup collection machines located within the government building. A specialized cleaning company collects the cups daily, cleans and sterilizes them, and then delivers them back to the partner cafes for reuse.
To facilitate the convenience of KT employees newly participating in the project, Dong-gu has installed reusable cup collection machines inside the KT Gwangju Tower and plans to conduct promotional activities in collaboration with KT and the partner cafes within the tower.
