Jungnang-gu Holds Bell Lighting Ceremony to Celebrate Buddha's Birthday in the Year 2568 of the Buddhist Calendar
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held a lighting ceremony for the temple bell on the evening of the 18th at Jungnang-gu Citizen Square to celebrate Buddha's Birthday in the year 2568 of the Buddhist calendar.
Starting with this lighting ceremony, the lantern in the shape of the temple bell (Seongdeokdaewang Sinjong, National Treasure No. 29) will illuminate Jungnang-gu Citizen Square for about a month until May 15.
Hosted by the Jungnang-gu Saam Association and organized by Jungnang-gu Office, the 'Buddhist Ceremony and Temple Bell Lighting Ceremony for Jungnang-gu Citizens in the Year 2568 of the Buddhist Calendar' was attended by about 300 people, including Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi, executive monks of the Saam Association, and local residents.
During the ceremony, scholarships and congratulatory money from the Saam Association were also presented to 18 exemplary youth in the local community and 10 families using the Jungnang-gu Family Center who had children in 2023.
