"Beware of Norovirus" ... Changwon Special City Urges Awareness of Food Poisoning Prevention Methods
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam recently urged citizens to take special precautions for prevention as norovirus and food poisoning are expected to increase with the warming weather.
The city has received three consultations related to suspected food poisoning in April and is currently conducting an epidemiological investigation. Administrative measures will be taken as soon as the results are available.
With the recent warm weather and increased outdoor activities, caution is needed to prevent food poisoning. To prevent food poisoning, ready-to-eat foods such as gimbap should be consumed within 2 hours, and hygiene management must be thorough when washing and storing ingredients.
Additionally, with the start of the school term, attention to food poisoning outbreaks from mass-prepared meals is necessary. Cooked food should be served promptly, and compliance with food and ingredient storage methods as well as thorough cleaning and disinfection of kitchen equipment can help prevent food poisoning in advance.
