The park will cover a total area of 439,551 square meters. It will include a lake, waterfront walking trails, a water playground, a park golf course, and a community plaza.
Earlier, after conducting a feasibility study, the city announced in July 2020 its plan to transform this long-neglected area into a park, and received approval for the implementation plan in November last year. Daewoo Construction is in charge of construction, and Dohwa Engineering is responsible for supervision, with a target completion date of April 2026.
The city aims to develop the park as a landmark public leisure facility in Pyeongtaek. To this end, a citizen participation task force (TF) team was formed from the early design stages to gather residents' opinions.
