Daejeon Transportation Corporation announced on the 9th that it will participate in the 'Regional Urban Convergence Technology Research and Development Project' led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This project, with a total scale of 5.3 billion KRW, aims to establish a digital hub to support policy decision-making for the Daejeon Urban Convergence Special Zone by December 2026.
In this project, the corporation will be responsible for the 'AI-based pedestrian-centered transportation usage prediction system' in the new transportation service sector, together with the local company EuclidSoft.
Centered around Daejeon Station, the project plans to build a transportation usage prediction system by collecting real-time pedestrian movement data using intelligent CCTV and analyzing traffic patterns, which will be utilized for MaaS integration and the creation of a future-type transfer center at Daejeon Station.
Additionally, during large-scale events such as the '0 o'clock Festival,' crowd movement data will be secured to predict transportation demand and density.
