Gyeonggi-do Promotes Youth and University Student Exchange with British Columbia, Canada
Gyeonggi Province is expanding efforts to promote youth and university student exchanges with British Columbia (BC), Canada.
On the 9th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it discussed ways to activate international educational cooperation between the two regions with the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Southern Office in Suwon.
BCCIE promotes the educational programs of BC's educational institutions worldwide and hosts various international education-related events and activities in cooperation with the provincial government.
Gyeonggi Province exchanged opinions on ways to revitalize the Paju Campus, which operates various educational programs under Gyeonggi Future Education, including visits by BC students, and discussed various educational cooperation plans for local students such as exchanges with local students and institution visits when promoting the ‘Gyeonggi Youth Ladder’ program in Canada in the future.
BCCIE proposed exchange and cooperation projects such as attending the upcoming BC International Education Conference scheduled for June and the participation of local universities in the Asia-Pacific University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) program.
Park Geun-gyun, Director of Lifelong Education at Gyeonggi Province, said, "Today's discussion is part of the ‘Gyeonggi Province-British Columbia Sisterhood Implementation Plan’ signed in May last year. The mutually proposed contents will be continuously discussed through the formation and operation of working groups between institutions in the future," adding, "I hope this meeting will further strengthen understanding and friendly relations between the two regions."
