According to Hanwha Group on the 7th, Chairman Kim visited the headquarters of Hanwha Robotics in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province on the 5th. This is the second time this year that Chairman Kim has personally visited a business site, following his visit to Hanwha Aerospace's Daejeon R&D (Research and Development) campus last month. Vice Chairman Kim Dong-seon, the third son who oversees the strategic planning division of Hanwha Robotics, accompanied him on this site visit.
Hanwha Robotics, a subsidiary of Hanwha Group's robotics division, was officially launched in October last year to secure a leading position in the robotics field, which is considered one of the core future industries. Hanwha Robotics introduced the collaborative robot, its main product, for the first time in Korea in 2017 and has since released various advanced technologies based on collaborative robots. The global consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) forecasts that the global robotics market will reach up to 351.6 trillion KRW by 2030.
Chairman Kim discussed with the staff at the research site where new technologies are being developed about the current status of technology and the future prospects of the robotics industry. He said, "Collaboration between humans and robots has become an irreversible trend of the times, and robots are the group's cutting-edge industry," and urged, "Please continue to develop differentiated innovative technologies that will lead the market." He also emphasized, "The ultimate goal of innovation in robot technology should be to 'improve the quality of human life,'" adding, "Hanwha's technology must play a positive role in every aspect of our daily lives." Chairman Kim added, "Starting with food tech, where robots can produce tangible results immediately, I expect synergies to be created in various group businesses such as defense, shipbuilding, and distribution."

Let's create a sustainable tomorrow for humanity with differentiated technology." Hanwha Robotics reported that after touring the site, Chairman Kim communicated for nearly an hour while eating hamburgers with employees in their 20s and 30s. The hamburgers provided were from the American brand Five Guys, introduced to Korea last June under the leadership of Vice Chairman Kim.
After the meal, Chairman Kim readily accepted requests for autographs and selfies from employees, and some employees asked for autographs on Hanwha Eagles uniforms or mobile phones, according to Hanwha Robotics. When a researcher in their 30s expressed a desire to see Hanwha robots in unmanned kitchens nationwide, he responded, "Please make sure to do that."
